About

Once known as the “skyscraper” of its day, the historic Germania Hall building, built in 1878, in downtown Wooster has been home to The City Square Steakhouse for over ten years.

Award-winning chef Mike Mariola and wife, Emily, opened The City Square Steakhouse in 2008. City Square Steakhouse pairs small-town charm with unmatched sophistication, and has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Steakhouses in America.

The City Square Steakhouse has been a staple in the community over the past decade, serving juicy Certified Angus Beef  steaks and burgers, fresh seafood and vegetarian entrees, house-made sides and desserts, along with craft beers and cocktails.

Founders Mike and Emily Mariola set out with a vision to prepare outrageously great food, offer a top-notch bar and take fabulous care of the guests. From day one, City Square has had a goal to be established as an institution of Wooster, where guests’ memories will be passed down between generations of families and friends.

Drawing inspiration from the success of the steakhouse’s bar menu, Mariola founded The Rail in 2011. A gourmet burger bar known for championing creative American fare and Ohio craft brews, the concept now has several locations across Ohio.
